This worship service begins the liturgy of the Great Three Days celebrating Jesus’ death and resurrection. “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning “mandate.” On this night, we remember that Jesus gave us two great commandments: to love one another as he has loved us, and to remember him with bread and wine. During this service, Christ comes to us in bread and wine and in words of forgiveness. We will also be marking the day with hands-on prayer stations.
